Trump's 250 airshow sets off airport chaos as FAA issues last-minute warning
Trump’s planned 250-airshow over the National Mall is already disrupting flights at Washington Reagan National Airport, prompting the FAA to issue a ground delay program. The advisory covers 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., with delays up to 67 minutes and an average of 24 minutes. The FAA cited “air show” as the impacting condition and noted “zero reserves,” meaning no spare capacity during the peak window. FlightAware had shown 24-minute inbound delays before the formal delay period began. The disruption is tied to events supporting Trump’s White House-backed Great American State Fair, which opened on the National Mall on Wednesday night. B-2 stealth bomber and F-35 flyovers kicked off the program, continuing daily through July 10. Reagan National’s own website flagged Thursday and warned of additional holds, while the airport authority also flagged disruptions for Sunday, June 28.
