Donald Trump's Bombardier Threat Gets Immediate Pushback From Republican Senator

Republican Sen. Jerry Moran pushed back on President Donald Trump’s threat to block Bombardier from selling jets in the United States unless the Canadian manufacturer builds domestically. Moran pointed to Bombardier’s Wichita, Kansas, operation and urged the administration to recognize the company’s “significant contributions” to jobs and the broader supply chain. Bombardier said it still has a major U.S. presence despite being headquartered in Montreal, employing thousands across nine U.S. facilities and relying on a network of nearly 2,800 suppliers in 47 states. Trump’s ultimatum came via Truth Social, shortly before Canada activated about $20 billion in retaliatory tariffs. Bombardier responded by citing U.S. investment, including wings built in Texas and components from California.
