Eva Airways is weighing an order for roughly two dozen large passenger jets from Airbus and Boeing as it works to modernize and expand its fleet, Bloomberg reported Thursday citing people familiar with the matter. The Taiwanese carrier is trying to finalize replacements for its widebody Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which make up nearly a third of its 89-strong fleet. Eva Air expects to reach a decision within the next few months, though it could ultimately choose not to place an order. If approved, deliveries are targeted for the mid-2030s. The possible move aligns with a broader Asia-Pacific fleet expansion, including Korean Air’s $45 billion, 103-jet Boeing deal.
