First direct flight to Cairo, Egypt, departs from Chicago O'Hare

The first direct flight to Cairo, Egypt, has departed Chicago O’Hare, marking the start of a new nonstop link between the two cities. EgyptAir’s inaugural nonstop left O’Hare on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with the return flight from Cairo scheduled to land in Chicago at 5:15 a.m. The service was announced in March by EgyptAir alongside Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Aviation. EgyptAir will operate three weekly flights to Cairo on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The route uses a 340-seat Airbus A350-900 configuration with 30 seats in business class and 310 in economy. With this launch, Chicago becomes the fourth North American city served by EgyptAir after New York, Washington, and Toronto.
