Flight delays leave passengers stranded at Kisumu airport
Passengers at Kisumu International Airport were stranded for hours on Sunday after delays disrupted flights to Nairobi and Mombasa, leaving travellers uncertain about departure times. Several passengers said they arrived expecting to board their scheduled flights, only to be told at check-in that delays were in effect without clear updates. Fred Ochieng, traveling on a Jambojet flight to Mombasa scheduled for 1pm, said he learned of the disruption after arriving and was informed that delays were also affecting Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and Moi International Airport in Mombasa. Another traveller, Vera Ogolla, reported being scheduled to board a Kenya Airways flight at 12.30pm without a definite time. Passengers tracked flights on radar apps, but some reported not seeing aircraft moving, and the lack of communication compounded the inconvenience.
