Flight from London forced to make U-turn after mid-air emergency

A flight from London Stansted to Ibiza, designated LS148, was forced to make a U-turn after declaring a mid-air emergency while cruising at 35,000 feet over central France. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, broadcast the transponder code 7700, the recognized general emergency signal. It then diverted to Charles de Gaulle airport, where emergency services met the plane. According to Airlive, the captain planned to resume the journey within about an hour after arriving in Paris, around 8:48pm. FlightRadar24 later shows the aircraft departing Paris several hours afterward and ultimately reaching Ibiza at 1:35pm local time. The report notes an increase in diversions related to disruptive passengers.
