Georgia Southern University sees increase in fall enrollment

Georgia Southern University reported growth in fall enrollment for 2020, with total enrollment rising 3.45% from 2019 to nearly 27,000 students. The university also said Savannah’s Armstrong campus recorded its largest freshman class in six years, with 895 first-year students. Officials attributed the increase to the institution’s ability to maintain momentum during the pandemic. Vice President of Enrollment Management Scot Lingrell said the university is positioned to meet needs across southeast Georgia, all of Georgia, and the United States, and hopes the enrollment gains continue annually. The report also noted a rise in Georgia Southern’s six-year graduation rate to 53.6%.
