Guymon Municipal Airport to open new aircraft hangar
Guymon Municipal Airport is preparing to expand its ability to handle visiting aircraft with a new 12,000-square-foot transient hangar. The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, the City of Guymon and the airport will mark the facility’s opening with a ribbon-cutting on June 29 at 1:30 p.m. Officials said the project was developed through the state’s Statewide Hangar Program and Airport Construction Program. The hangar is intended to accommodate transient and business aircraft, boosting the airport’s operational capacity. Organizers said the upgrade will strengthen regional transportation links, support economic development and improve aviation services across the Oklahoma Panhandle. Guymon Municipal Airport, established in 1949, covers 480 acres and handles about 19,000 takeoffs and landings annually.
