Hungary
xCruzo Brief
A pilot in Hungary has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a light aircraft and landing it after entering restricted airspace near the Paks nuclear power plant. Authorities say the incident began when a man allegedly took off from Kalocsa airfield in a Cessna that had been reported stolen. Military responders scrambled two Gripen fighters, and local reports say the jets tracked the aircraft as it flew into prohibited areas around the facility, performing “manoeuvres” over the plant. The aircraft ultimately made an emergency landing in a sunflower field in Tolan county, about 84 miles south of Budapest. The pilot is now in custody.
