JetBlue raising baggage checking fees a second time as holidays near | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
JetBlue has increased checked baggage fees again, marking a second hike in 2024 ahead of the holiday rush. Starting with tickets purchased on or after Nov. 3, most economy passengers traveling within the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean will pay a minimum of $50 each way for their first checked bag, up from $39. The first-bag cost reaches $55 during peak travel windows—including Thanksgiving and winter holidays—when passengers check in at least 24 hours before departure. If they wait until the final 24 hours, fees rise to $60 off-peak and $70 peak. JetBlue said it is adjusting the fees to offset higher fuel and operating costs while keeping base fares competitive and offering customers the choice to pay only if needed. Fuel prices have climbed since the Iran war began.
