JetBlue raising baggage checking fees a second time as holidays near | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
xCruzo Brief
JetBlue is raising checked baggage fees for a second time this year as the holiday travel rush approaches. For tickets bought on or after Nov. 3, most economy passengers flying within the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean will pay at least $50 each way for the first checked bag, up from $39. The price rises to $55 during peak periods like Thanksgiving and winter holidays if baggage is checked at least 24 hours before departure. Waiting until the final 24 hours increases the fee to $60 off-peak and $70 peak. For a second bag, fees start at $70 off-peak and go to $85 at the airport. JetBlue said the changes aim to offset rising fuel and operating costs.
