Jurors sworn in for trial in fatal Garapan bar fight

A jury trial began Monday for Jeremy Guillermin, 30, a former Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting trainee charged in the fatal beating of Alvin Remamba outside Relox Bar in Garapan on Nov. 16 of last year. Presiding Judge Joseph N. Camacho swore in six jurors and two alternates. Guillermin faces voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and battery, and obstructing justice. Prosecutors say Guillermin punched Remamba in the face so hard he fell, hit his head on concrete, and died four days later on Nov. 20. The defense argued the video inside Relox Bar doesn’t show the victim being hostile, and focused on surveillance from the nearby Safe House bar.
