Karl MacDonald Sutton

Karl MacDonald Sutton, 63, died Oct. 13, 2026, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Born and raised in St. Thomas, he spent his formative years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as one of the “Sutton Brothers.” Sutton was a dual graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, earning degrees in mechanical engineering and architecture. Over his career, he worked with Harley-Davidson, Midwest Express Airlines, J.U.B. King & Associates, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Locally known as “Chef Mac,” he was also a gifted culinary talent, an avid golfer, and a passionate host who enjoyed sharing the beauty of St. Thomas.
