Manchester Airport has been named the worst in the UK for flight delays
Manchester Airport has been named the UK’s worst for flight delays, based on 2025 on-time performance data. Travel firm Together Travel analysed major UK airports using 2025 flight performance figures, finding Manchester averaged 71.5% on-time arrivals in Q1 2025 and 69% in Q2. That produced a 71.5% overall on-time rate and a delay risk score of 28.5%, described as 1% higher than Birmingham Airport, ranked second. Together Travel said almost three in every ten flights experience delays, and warned summer conditions could add pressure due to longer routes, airspace restrictions and rising operational costs. Manchester Airport contested the ranking, saying the analysis is misleading because it omits “important context” referenced in Civil Aviation Authority materials.
