Mayor: Russian air defences intercept 19 drones headed to Moscow
Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Russian air defenses intercepted at least 19 Ukrainian drones headed toward Moscow during Saturday. Sobyanin told TASS that experts were examining wreckage, but he did not specify which targets the drones were aiming for. Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported a drone strike on an oil pumping station described as critical to fuel supplies for the Russian capital. The SBU said a technical building at the Vtorovo facility, near Vladimir east of Moscow, was hit and that it was the second successful attack on the site within a month. Russian authorities have not yet confirmed the reported strike. The article situates the events within a broader pattern of drone and missile attacks by Ukraine over more than four years, amid reported fuel shortages in several Russian regions following attacks on energy infrastructure.
