Navy Blue Angels' low-level flyover stuns Florida beachgoers
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are reviewing an unusually low flyover over Pensacola Beach, Florida, after jets blew sand and debris into the crowd during the annual “Breakfast with the Blues” flyover on Wednesday. Footage shared by USA Today showed sand billowing as chairs and beach equipment were carried across the shoreline by engine thrust, prompting some spectators to scramble for cover. Additional videos circulating online indicated that beach gear struck several people, though the extent of any injuries was not confirmed. Blue Angels leadership said it is conducting a thorough safety review to ensure the maneuver met strict Navy and FAA standards. Witnesses described the pass as the closest they had ever seen. The Blue Angels, based at Naval Air Station Pensacola, have performed the Pensacola Beach flyover for decades and the event is reported to draw up to 250,000 spectators each year.
