Now boarding: A taste of Calgary! WestJet taps local craft brewery, Tool Shed as exclusive onboard beer provider
WestJet will begin offering Tool Shed Brewing Company's craft beer on board all flights with buy-on-board service, starting July 15 from Calgary. The menu features three Tool Shed staples—People Skills blonde ale, Golden Hour hazy pale ale, and Local Legend light craft lager—on eligible routes. Tool Shed uses malted grains from the Canadian Prairies and brews without adjuncts like corn or rice syrups. WestJet says the partnership brings a taste of Calgary to the skies and strengthens ties with local producers. WestJet's loyalty chief, Steve McClelland, said the collaboration supports local farmers and businesses and shows that small and large players can work together to bolster Canadian economies. Tool Shed founder Graham Sherman described WestJet as Canada's Craft Airline and noted aligned values of hospitality and authenticity. Beer will be sold on flights with buy-on-board, and Local Legend carries 3.5% ABV. Guests may receive a 15% discount at Tool Shed's taproom with a boarding pass. The move reinforces WestJet's strategy of highlighting regional producers and adding locally connected experiences, while Tool Shed's farm-to-tap story underscores partnerships with Canadian farmers and a commitment to authentic craft.
