Passenger who acted indecently on flight from Dubai to Newcastle sentenced

A man who pleaded guilty to exposing himself on an Emirates flight from Dubai to Newcastle has been sentenced to an 18-month community order rather than jail. Britto Lorence, 27, had been traveling on the long-haul route in June last year, seated beside a woman and her young son. The court heard that after the mother stood up to feed her child, she noticed Lorence had a blanket over his lap and was performing a sex act. He was arrested on arrival at Newcastle International Airport and later changed his plea to guilty before sentencing. He was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and pay £914 in costs and a victim surcharge.
