Pilot reports passenger bit fellow flyer on plane approaching Philadelphia
A pilot reported that an unruly American Airlines passenger bit a fellow flyer while the aircraft approached Philadelphia on Sunday. In air-traffic-control audio reviewed by CBS News, the pilot said the person on board appeared “to be trying to fight everybody,” and requested an emergency medical crew and law enforcement to meet the plane at Philadelphia International Airport “just as a precaution.” American Airlines said the passenger was experiencing a medical emergency, without further details. The flight departed Charlotte, North Carolina, earlier that morning and landed just before 10 a.m. ET, according to FlightAware. It is not clear whether the passenger was taken into custody, and CBS News said it did not immediately receive further comment.
