Porter Airlines betting travellers will embrace Montreal's second airport

Porter Airlines opened a commercial passenger terminal at Montreal's South Shore airport, rebranded as Montreal Metropolitan Airport after upgrades. The new facility will offer service to 11 Canadian destinations, including Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. The CEO Michael Deluce says the terminal will broaden travel options and support trade, tourism and business, and by July Montreal Metropolitan could be positioned as the fourth-largest airport for Porter in seats and flights in Canada. Operated by YHU Infrastructure Partners, it is located about 20 kilometres from downtown Montreal, opposite the Canadian Space Agency, and aims to strengthen connections in Quebec and the rest of the country.
