Qantas to begin non-stop flights between Sydney and London. But there's a catch

Qantas plans non-stop Sydney-to-London flights, unveiling a dedicated A350 for Project Sunrise at the Toulouse Airbus plant. The first of 12 aircraft, named Vega, is freshly painted with engines not yet installed, and services could begin once three A350s are delivered, potentially in October next year. Fares are expected to be at least 20% higher than current routes. Airbus delays have pushed the timeline by about six months due to supply-chain and labor issues. The aircraft features a belly fuel add‑on of 20,000 liters, extending range by roughly 2,000 kilometers while the airline emphasizes it won’t exceed current premium expectations.
