Qatar Airways expands UK and Ireland summer flight schedule
Qatar Airways is expanding summer frequencies across key UK and Ireland routes as it rebuilds its global network. From Edinburgh, weekly flights double from seven to fourteen; Gatwick rises from four to seven, Heathrow from 42 to 49, and Dublin from 14 to 17 per week, while Manchester and Birmingham also increase. The airline now serves 41 airports in the UK and Europe and more than 160 destinations worldwide via its Doha hub, Hamad International. The UK Foreign Office has relaxed guidance for Gulf destinations following a US-Iran peace agreement, aiding travel demand. Tokyo Haneda resumes on July 15 and will reach daily flights by August 1, with Japan highlighted as a breakout leisure market. The carrier notes a shift from traditional VFR routes toward premium leisure destinations such as Australia, Thailand and Japan.
