Russia attacked Ukraine with two "Kinzhals", ballistics and 105 drones: Air Defense neutralized 96 UAVs, - Air Force
On the night of June 21, 2026, Russian forces launched a large mixed attack on Ukraine that included two Iskander-M/SC-400 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and two Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from airspace over Ryazan Oblast, alongside 105 Shahed-type strike UAVs. Ukrainian reporting cited Air Force Command statements, adding that Gerbera, Italmas and Banderol loitering munitions were used, as well as Parody-type decoy drones. The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian air defense, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups. By 9:00 a.m. (preliminary data), Ukraine said it shot down or neutralized 96 enemy UAVs of multiple types across the north, south, east and central regions. Ballistic missiles and six attack UAVs were recorded hitting six locations, with debris found at five. Damage and additional details were still being verified for two aeroballistic missiles as the attack continued. Earlier, an air raid alert had been issued due to a reported MiG-31K takeoff and drone strikes on June 20.
