Ryanair, TUI, easyJet, and Jet2 have little-known 32kg bag rule on all flights
Ryanair, TUI, easyJet, and Jet2 all reference a lesser-known rule limiting checked baggage items to 32kg, even when families use “bag pooling” to share allowances across travellers. The practice can help families split a combined weight entitlement, such as a four-person party with separate 20kg allowances, but airlines may still reject a single piece that exceeds the per-item cap. Industry reporting notes the limit is tied to baggage-handling constraints rather than extra charges. easyJet says pooled allowances are permitted for bookings made on the same flight and reservation, provided no single item weighs more than 32kg, with a maximum total size under 275cm. Jet2 also allows pooling as long as the overall limit is met and no bag exceeds 32kg, with confirmation that a slightly overweight case can be an issue if it breaches the item rule.
