SCC to host pilot program at community Learn and Explore Event
SCC will host a Fixed Wing Pilot Community Learn and Explore Event on June 23, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport Terminal. The session highlights SCC’s Fixed Wing Pilot Program, with career pathways starting as early as August. Dean Chris Hall calls it a strong opportunity to pursue a private pilot license. Attendees can meet program representatives, ask questions, and learn about upcoming coursework and flight training. A new Fixed Wing Pilot Program class begins August 17, giving students time to enroll. The program is offered in partnership with Madisonville Community College, combining resources for accessible, near-home instruction. For more information, contact Carla Rose at 606-878-4779 or Lori Carrender at lcarrender0004@kctcs.edu. The event aims to expand access to high-demand pilot training in the region.
