SIA Engineering Company And Air India Sign MOU To Develop India's Aviation MRO Hub
xCruzo Brief
SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) and Air India have signed a legally non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaboration in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO). The agreement aims to support India’s development of a global aviation MRO hub by combining SIAEC’s MRO technical expertise with Air India’s airline operations network. The companies say they may consider creating a joint venture MRO facility in India to meet growing domestic and regional aircraft demand. Air India is an associated company of Singapore Airlines, which holds a 25.1% stake in the airline. The strategic alignment is reinforced because SIAEC’s CEO, Goh Choon Phong, also sits on Air India’s board.
