The new Air Force One from Qatar is destined for Trump's library
President Donald Trump unveiled a new Boeing 747 “Air Force One” on June 19, a plane gifted from Qatar and shown from a hangar in Maryland. Trump accepted the aircraft in May 2025 after previously criticizing the timing and pace of Boeing’s new presidential planes. The donated jet is valued at $400 million and, although it drew ethics concerns, Trump said in 2025 he would not reject it. The Qatar Boeing 747 is expected to serve as Air Force One until 2028, when two new presidential 747s are expected to be completed. After that, the plane is slated to go to Trump’s future presidential library. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis allocated 2.63 acres near Miami’s Freedom Tower in September for the library, which is planned as a glass skyscraper, with a museum concept that includes a 747 displayed in a lobby setting.
