Tragedy as UK man dies when Singapore Airlines flight plunges 178ft in five seconds

A 73-year-old British man, Geoff Kitchen, has died after a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER suffered severe turbulence, an incident his wife described as a sudden drop of 178 feet in less than five seconds. Linda Kitchen, 74, from Thornbury near Bristol, said the family was traveling on SQ321 from London Heathrow to Singapore, with stops including Indonesia and Australia. Kitchen reported severe injuries and two passengers helping as Geoff received CPR near the escape door. Geoff later died from a suspected heart attack. Linda spent 10 days in intensive care and is now pursuing legal action for personal injury damages.
