Two of Brad Pitt’s children have filed to remove his surname, according to court documents in California. Zahara, 21, and Maddox, 24, are seeking changes to their legal names for personal reasons, in the latest step in the ongoing legal dispute surrounding Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The couple married in 2014 and filed for divorce in 2016, finally settling in late 2024, but they continue to litigate over the French winery Château Miraval. Papers filed electronically to the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles were submitted in the prior month for Zahara, while Maddox requested approval at the end of May. Both siblings placed public notices in the Los Angeles Daily Journal once weekly for four consecutive weeks in June and July. If no objections are registered, a judge is expected to rule on Maddox’s case in mid-September and Zahara’s at month’s end.
