Ukraine drone attack sets southern Russia refinery on fire
Ukraine drone attack sets southern Russia refinery on fire reports a strike that triggered a major fire at an oil refinery in southern Russia. The Russian military said it shot down 213 Ukrainian drones amid ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said on Sunday that a Ukrainian drone attack caused the fire at a refinery in the Krasnodar region, in Slavyansk-na-Kubani, and that one person was killed. He added that several houses, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged. The facility’s processing capacity was described by various sources as 4 to 5 million tons of oil per year, and its location near Russia-occupied Crimea has made it a repeated target. Additional drone incidents were reported in Yaroslavl and Ivanovo, north-east of Moscow.
