United Airlines starts serving food by famous chefs -- including one from Denver -- on long flights
United Airlines will launch a new in-flight dining program for Polaris international business class by partnering with Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Starting Saturday, it will serve meals curated by 11 chefs on select long-distance routes designed for business-class travelers on flights operated under United Polaris. The lineup includes Penelope Wong, owner of Yuan Wonton in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood, a June James Beard Award winner for Best Chef in the Mountain region. Her three-course menu will be offered on Denver flights to Rome, London, Frankfurt, Munich and Tokyo. Meals will be available from Aug. 1 through October, with a seasonal lineup in November. United says business-class passengers can preorder up to five days before departure and up to 24 hours prior.
