Video shows pilot jumping out of Amazon cargo jet and 'running for his life' after fiery crash

A new cellphone video shows a pilot jumping out of an Amazon cargo jet moments after it overran a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday and crashed, killing five people on the ground. The footage was captured by Olvin Henriquez, who was driving past the airport with his family, including his 4-month-old daughter, and witnessed flames and thick black smoke rising after the impact. The National Transportation Safety Board’s chairwoman, Jennifer Homendy, said a Boeing 767 hit a van carrying seven employees from a cleaning company and struck an SUV outside the airport area. Henriquez said the pilot escaped through the cockpit door and ran as the aircraft rapidly burst into flames. Five people died; five others were hospitalized, three in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
