Why Boeing Stock Just Bounced Back
xCruzo Brief
Boeing shares swung higher after a prior drop tied to a reported new “software glitch” on 737 MAX airliners and a Federal Aviation Administration delay of 737 MAX 10 certification until the issue is resolved. Following the Wall Street Journal report, Boeing stock closed down nearly 7% on Monday, but was up about 2.8% on Tuesday. The move was credited partly to UBS analyst Gavin Parsons, who reiterated a “buy” rating and said investors may be underweighting Boeing’s normalized earnings. Parsons warned near-term risks to cash flow if deliveries slip, including for customers such as Southwest and United. Boeing management says the patch is expected by early 2028. Separately, NASA announced the Starliner return to flight.
