Win all-time legends head-to-head vs. Eagles, former player says
Bryce Huff’s take on NFL franchise legacies turns into a head-to-head showdown focused on the 49ers’ all-time roster versus the Eagles. Huff, a former player who retired in 2025 after stops with the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles, discussed the matchups on the Caps Off Podcast. He scored San Francisco the win, 4-3, by comparing position groups one by one across quarterback, running backs, wide receivers, and more. At quarterback, Huff favored Joe Montana over Donovan McNabb. He selected the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley and LeSean McCoy (and compared them to Christian McCaffrey and Frank Gore), while backing Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Anquan Boldin at wideout. Huff picked George Kittle over Zach Ertz and credited the Eagles’ offensive line and Reggie White group for a comeback, before San Francisco’s defense sealed the rest. He also linked the conclusion to Super Bowl timing, with the 49ers winning five titles in the 1980s and 1990s.
