Chris Sale won't start NLDS Game 2 vs. Dodgers as Braves go with another bullpen game - CBS Sports

Chris Sale will not start Game 2 of the NLDS on Sunday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to MLB.com. Atlanta has not confirmed the decision, but the Braves reportedly plan another bullpen-centric approach. Sale appeared in relief on Thursday against the Phillies, throwing 21 pitches and recording four outs in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series. Manager Walt Weiss said Friday that Sale might not be able to start until Game 3 of the NLDS on Tuesday, depending on how he feels. Left-hander Ray Kerr is set to open Game 2, with Grant Holmes likely as the primary bulk reliever after throwing 28 pitches over two innings in the same matchup. The move also affects Atlanta’s potential pitching schedule later in the series.
