Entries open for Paul Roggeman European Open fishing competition

Entries are now open for the Paul Roggeman European Open Beach Championship, a European sea angling event hosted by East Yorkshire. The competition runs for three days from 5 to 7 March, along the North Sea coastline from Bridlington to Spurn Point, with cash prizes awarded for catching the heaviest fish. Juniors will be allowed to compete for the overall championship for the first time. The event, which has been held annually since 1994, attracts hundreds of anglers from across the UK and overseas and will include advice sessions and stalls selling fishing equipment. East Riding councillor Nick Coultish said it is expected to support local economies in early 2027.
