Fatherhood First Fishing Day returns Aug. 15 at Combs Lake in Kennett with a half-day program focused on fishing and community support. The Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium Inc. Fatherhood First Program will run the event from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch from noon to 1 p.m. The Missouri Department of Conservation is co-sponsoring and will provide safety presentations, fishing poles and boat rides, with the Missouri National Guard also scheduled to attend. Children must stay with a parent or responsible adult. Loaner poles are limited. Registration includes refreshments, music and breakfast snacks, while prizes and T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
