Georgia man arrested after South Florida boat collision injures several people

A Georgia man was arrested after a boat collision off South Florida left multiple people seriously injured, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said. The incident was reported near the Haulover Sandbar at about 1 a.m. Saturday. FWC said Daniel Lawson, 42, of Atlanta, was operating a 39-foot Donzi with multiple passengers when it collided with a 20-foot angler carrying three people. The “multiple victims” were taken to a local hospital. The arrest form cited a juvenile’s hairline skull fracture and head lacerations, and injuries to an adult woman including a collapsed lung and a lacerated spleen.
