Gov. Dan Patrick is launching a podcast, extending his return to the talk-show and sports-broadcaster style that helped define his earlier media career. The Texas governor announced the new program, “Lieutenant Dan,” in a conversation with WFAA’s Jason Whitely on Friday’s Inside Texas Politics episode. Patrick said the first episode is likely to drop Wednesday or Thursday, June 24 or June 25. He described the recording setup as reminiscent of his time at Channel 11 and said the show will feature a “rolodex of interesting people” discussing current issues and untold stories for Texans. The inaugural guest is Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Patrick began radio work in 1977 and later moved into major operations roles, building a conservative political platform along the way.
