Hamas-Supporting Asylum Seeker Urges Britain to Deport Him

Abu Wadee, a 34-year-old Palestinian militant convicted in Britain of illegally entering the UK, is now asking to be deported. His request comes after he was linked by UK reporting to a Hamas-affiliated “Tyre-Burning Unit” involved in 2018 border clashes, and after a period in asylum accommodation following a prison sentence for the illegal entry conviction. Wadee says he no longer supports Hamas, arguing he backed the group under pressure in Gaza and rejecting antisemitism allegations. The Home Office says deportation is not currently possible because Gaza remains an active war zone, leaving him under an electronic tag and subject to ongoing relocation.
