Henriques chasing 'cricket nirvana' with Portugal

Moises Henriques says helping Portugal qualify for their first-ever men’s T20 World Cup would be “cricket nirvana” as he begins a new chapter with the country of his birth. The 39-year-old, who played 4 Tests, 16 ODIs and 24 T20s for Australia between 2009 and 2021, will captain Portugal at a 10-team European sub-regional qualifying tournament in Finland starting Friday. Portugal, ranked 37th, is in Group B with the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Israel. If they advance, the next stage is a European final regional qualifier next year with Scotland, Jersey and Denmark.
