Historic 1912 Sausalito houseboat and yacht could be yours - at an $800K discount

A historic houseboat and yacht, the Mirene, could be purchased at a reported $800,000 discount after being rescued from salvage and restored by Ryan Phelan and Stewart Brand. The vessel is moored at 13 S 40 Dock in Sausalito’s Waldo Point Harbor. More than 100 years old, Mirene began in the early 20th century as a working tugboat built at Kruse & Banks Shipyard in Oregon, before becoming a 1912 gas schooner with sail power and a combustion engine. Its early work included serving as a cannery tender in Alaska, later shifting to river tug duties and eventually arriving in San Francisco Bay in the 1970s.
