Hundreds of sailing fans to enjoy weekend on Guernsey's water

Hundreds of sailing fans are set for a weekend on Guernsey’s water, with more than 80 yachts preparing for the Classic Channel Regatta on Saturday. Crews will be received with a reception at Castle Cornet before sailing to Lézardrieux, France, the next day. The regatta comes after the return of Guernsey’s Harbour Carnival last week and following the Tour des Ports de la Manche, which reached St Peter Port on Thursday. The Tour des Ports de la Manche, now in its 43rd year, is described as one of the biggest regattas in the French sailing calendar. Together, the events underline the island’s active summer schedule for amateur and competitive maritime communities across the Channel.
