Kayak Race, Boat Parade and Fireworks Highlight Lake Murvaul Fourth of July Celebration
Lake Murvaul will host its annual Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 4, with the Panola County Fresh Water Supply District #1 staging events at Lake Murvaul Campground Marina. The day centers on “America 250,” commemorating the nation’s 250th birthday, and includes activities running throughout the venue. A new feature this year is a 4th of July Kayak Race, with registration beginning at 1 p.m. and races starting at 2 p.m. Visitors can also enjoy live music from the Red Sage Band, along with food vendors, shopping, and family-oriented activities. In the evening, the Lake Murvaul Boat Parade returns with the America 250 theme, gathering at 7 p.m. at the Game Warden’s Boathouse before departing at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes of $300, $200, and $100 are listed for top finishers, followed by a fireworks display over the lake.
