Know who will be captain and assistants for the Peoria Rivermen in 2026-27

The Peoria Rivermen named Alec Baer as captain for the 2026-27 SPHL season, with the team assigning “A” alternates based on where they play. Baer returns for his third season as captain and is set for his seventh overall with the franchise, carrying a 78-27-9 record in games he led. Under his watch, the Rivermen captured two first-place finishes. Across his career with Peoria, Baer has 18 game-winning goals among 109 regular-season goals. On the road, center Garrett Devine and defenseman Kylar Fenton will wear the “A,” while home games shift it to right wings Mike Gelatt and Mike McChesney. Peoria opens at Quad City Saturday night and hosts expansion Pee Dee on Oct. 24 in Carver Arena.
