Lakers reportedly sign ex-Knicks, Celtics 6-foot-8 Bronny James teammate for training camp

The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for a major roster reset after reports that Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves will anchor a largely new group, with LeBron James not joining the team’s next chapter. ESPN, citing Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, reported LeBron will return for a 24th NBA season but “it won’t be with the Los Angeles Lakers.” With training camp approaching, LA must also manage cuts because the roster is currently one player over the allowed limit. On Thursday night, the Lakers signed Anton Watson to an Exhibit 10 contract. Watson was drafted in 2024 by the Boston Celtics, then later played fewer than 10 games for the New York Knicks before landing in LA, where he may compete for a two-way deal.
