Malaysia’s Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 9.2% in June 2026, accelerating from 7.8% in the previous month, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM). In its report, PPI Local Production, June 2026, DOSM said the 9.2% increase was the highest recorded so far this year. All sectors recorded gains. The mining sector grew 29.0% after a 52.6% rise in May, driven by crude petroleum extraction, which increased 40.7%. The agriculture, forestry and fishing sector climbed 9.1% versus 8.9% in May, supported by fishing and the growing of perennial crops, up 12.5% and 10.8% respectively. Manufacturing rose 7.2% from 3.5% in May, led by higher prices in coke and refined petroleum products and also by computer, electronic and optical products.
