Mariners (technically) still alive after 10th-inning walk-off win over Astros

The Seattle Mariners avoided elimination in the American League West race with a 6-5 walk-off win over the Houston Astros at T-Mobile Park on Wednesday night. Seattle kept its postseason hopes alive by avoiding the AL Wild Card exit from Sunday, and the win extended its survival streak in the division race to four straight days. For Seattle to reach October, it would need a complex sequence of results: sweep its four-game home set vs. the Angels, and have other AL West rivals lose all their remaining series, plus additional outcomes in weekend matchups.
