Mayank Yadav: Rebuilding the 150kph dream, with an eye on the 2027 ODI World Cup
A viral training video shows Mayank Yadav working with India captains Shubman Gill during his stint in Mohali, as the fast bowler continues his return to peak pace. The update follows a move to Chandigarh, where he has trained with Gaurav Sharma—head physio for IPL franchise Gujarat Titans—after reaching out post–IPL 2026. Sharma says Mayank is now preparing for the West Indies series and that surgery for a back issue is done, with no current injury. Yadav’s earlier setbacks included multiple injuries and even an infected toe laceration in May 2025. He last played the Delhi Premier League for East Delhi Riders, taking eight wickets in seven matches. During training, he bowls 10 overs in three-and-a-half hours, split into five, three, then two, touching 150kph consistently with average speed in the high 140s.
