xCruzo Brief
A man is dead and another remains missing after a boat accident off Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, according to officials. The U.S. Coast Guard responded to a vessel in distress around 4:30 p.m. Saturday near Singing Beach, public affairs specialist Petty Officer Lyric Jackson said. She reported the boat hit rocks and began “spinning out of control,” sending three men and one dog overboard. Rescuers located a 67-year-old and a 65-year-old and transported them to a local hospital; the 67-year-old was later declared dead by the Essex District Attorney’s Office. A 37-year-old passenger is still missing. Coast Guard crews from Gloucester Station and aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod were searching Sunday, and the dog was found.
